About VirtuHance
The structure most businesses never had time to build.
why we exist
Between seventy and eighty percent of South African small businesses close within five years. Very few of them close because the owner was not good at the work. They close because the business outgrew what one person could hold, and there was nothing underneath to catch the rest.
That is not a talent problem. It is a systems problem, and systems can be built.
systems are the foundation
In my years in practice I watched what actually holds a business up, and it was never the person working the longest hours. It was the systems. A business can only be built as high as its foundation will carry. Where that foundation is thin, growth becomes the thing that breaks it rather than the thing that saves it.
So that is where we start, every time. Compliance, records, finances, process. Not because it is the exciting part, but because everything else is standing on it.
then marketing
Once the foundation is solid, marketing becomes one of the most important things you do. Networking, digital marketing, campaigns, all of it, done steadily rather than whenever a gap appears in the diary.
Your brand identity is part of that, and it is not a waste of time. It is worth doing properly, provided it lines up with your purpose, your beliefs and where you are trying to get to.
Our mission
Our mission is to help talented business owners scale. To find the gaps, fix them, and give a business a second chance where it needs one, so that you can spend your time on the work you are genuinely good at, and do it well.
None of us are perfect. We all have strengths and we all have weaknesses. Rather than trying to carry every part of it yourself, do the eighty percent you are good at, and let someone else take the twenty percent you are not.
THAT TAKES A TEAM. NO MAN IS AN ISLAND.
Hesca du Plessis
Founder & CEO
I started in a call centre, which is where you learn to handle a difficult conversation without flinching. Administration came next, then team management, then four years in commission only sales, which teaches you quickly that discipline and differentiation are not optional.
As a fiduciary business consultant I spent my days helping partners grow their businesses, and found that growing theirs grew mine. That is still how I think about this work.
VirtuHance came out of all of it. I kept meeting owners who were capable, working hard, and still losing ground, simply because nobody had ever put a structure under what they were doing. That is the gap we fill.

how we work
- WE PUT IT IN WRITING. If your annual return is overdue we will say so, and tell you what it costs if it stays that way. You get something you can hold us to.
- WE CAP WHAT WE SELL. Every module states the hours it includes, and anything beyond that is agreed with you first. No surprises on an invoice.
- YOUR BUSINESS STAYS YOURS. Your data sits in your system and your domain is registered in your name. If you ever leave, you leave with everything.
- WE WILL TELL YOU WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT WORTH DOING. If a piece of work will not move your business, we would rather say so than bill you for it.
